Services offered at Cardinia Dental

Bridges

A bridge is used to replace single or multiple missing teeth. A crown is placed on teeth on either side of the space with the ‘missing teeth’ attached to form a ‘bridge’. We use porcelain alone or in combination with zirconium or gold. We will discuss the best choice for your individual needs at your consultation. A mould of the prepared teeth is sent to our master ceramist, who will hand tint the porcelain to match the colour and shape of your surrounding teeth. Our ceramist uses only the finest porcelain to produce natural looking teeth. Many patients take this opportunity to whiten their surrounding teeth. The new teeth are matched to the new whiter, brighter colour.

Sports Mouthguards

Mouthguards

Mouthguards are an important inclusion in any sporting uniform. The mouthguards made at Cardinia Dental are double laminated for double the protection. They are custom made to fit your mouth perfectly and we can label your mouthguard with name and phone number placed discretely on the inside. We have many colours to choose from. Your favourite  club symbol (both local leagues , AFL and NRL) can be placed on the mouthguard to make it more individual.

We will discuss the best choice for your individual needs at your consultation. Following preparation of your tooth a mould is sent to our master ceramist. Dental implants

Dental Implants

Technology now allows us to replace missing teeth with implants as part of our everyday dental care. Implants provide permanent tooth replacement by providing a strong foundation on which to place natural looking porcelain teeth. Your implant supported teeth will function exactly as your own natural teeth did. We undertake single or multiple tooth implants including full upper and lower implant supported bridges and overdentures. Not all patients are candidates for dental implants. We will discuss your eligibility for dental implants in consultation with you.

Tooth Coloured Fillings

Bonded composite is the most common type of filling material that we use today, however in some circumstances, silver amalgam is also used. Your dentist will discuss the options with you. The composite material is matched to your existing tooth colour to keep your tooth looking natural.. For larger areas we recommend porcelain inlays to add strength and return teeth to natural appearance.

Veneers

Dental Veneers

Veneers are used to reshape, rebuild and strengthen crooked, chipped or broken front teeth. There are two types of veneers.

Composite Veneers

  • Tooth coloured composite material is sculpted over the tooth surface into the desired new shape. It’s then hardened using a ‘blue light’. This technique is particularly useful for small chips or minor shape changes.

Porcelain Veneers

  • Porcelain veneers are generally the technique of choice when significant shape change is required. After shaping the surface of the tooth a mould is taken and sent to our master ceramist who will custom make hand tinted porcelain veneers to perfectly match your surrounding teeth. Many patients take the opportunity to enhance their smile by whitening their teeth prior to having veneers placed.
